In the year 2012, a terrible sickness washed over the globe, infecting nearly every human who merely breathed in its fumes. Some say the sickness was started by just some rotton rat carcasses deep in the sewer mixed with human waste. Some say it was a mad scientist's project gone wrong. Still, others say it wasn't a sickness at all, but an alien invasion sent down to earth from another world to take over the planet, but no one knows for sure as all these ideas sound crazy and unlikely. Later that year the human race was completely wiped out. Doctors just couldn't cure patients, because they didn't have the right medicine and soon they, too got infected and became to ill to do their jobs. The world became a dead lifeless place. That is, until the dog's realized the humans were gone.
All the dog in New York City divided into four bands, or Gangs; The Obsidian Gang, the Sachrani Gang, and Saffron Gang, and the Sobaent Gang. They developed a form of 'government'. Bosses led the gangs, and generals were their 'second-in-command' who took over after the boss resigned or died. Each gang has its own set of rules and punishments, and they each have claimed their own territory around the once beautiful, human filled city. They now live life without the humans, which is better for those who were street dogs before being chased and ran over by the humans cars, and harder for those who used to be pampered pooches.

UNCLAIMED LAND
FABLE BAY There is a beautiful bay by the edge of New York City. No Gang has claimed this part of the land, because the loner dogs that live here are tough and mean and they will rise up together to keep the gangs from winning them over. They do not normally attack individuals however, except those who wish to fight.

TIMES SQUARE A once lively place in New York City, Times Squarre has turned rotten after many years of no human inhabitants. It reeks of rotten fish, mold, and many other unknown smells blended together to become the most horrible reeking place in New York City. However, mice and rats and other sources of food come here, for some unknown reason, so cats and dogs come here to hunt. There are still cars sitting around abandoned a long time ago. However, the rotting cushions inside can make a makeshift bed for the night.

7TH AVENUE The 7th Avenue was once a busy, lively neighborhood. However, unlike Times Square, it is still more formal, and doesn't smell like rotting fish. That does not mean its anywhere near homely. The houses have holes and are all broken into. Glass windows are shattered. The beds are still there, so dogs can always sleep here. There are many human decoratives and they still smell of human things. The more pet-like dogs are found here; the dogs who couldn't let go of their companionship lives.

THE STATUE OF LIBERTY Tha Statue of Liberty, also known as 'The Green Lady" to the dogs of New York City. Since this is almost near the heart of the city, the dogs decided no one could claim it. The bosses occasionally plan to meet here, but not very often. Some come and swim across to it just to climb up into the tallest level and peer out at the marvelous sight. It might not be as awe-inspiring as it used to be, with all the city lights gleaming and the boats in the harber and whatnot, but its definately still quite a sight.

YANKEE STADIUM The New York Yankee football stadium.. once a place for some good ol' football. Many a games were played here, millions of hotdogs sold, tickets punched, shouts put out into the world to disappear in thin air, and many a games won and lost. Heaven for old human football fans, and now a meadow for dogs. The untame grass is way higher than the humans would have let it grow, and ivy spreads up the goal posts and dogs get ready for the ball-less touchdown as they romp and play in this overgrown field.

BACK STREET ALLEYWAYS On the other side of the Obsidian claimed land, far away from the once inhabited Yankee Stadium, there are a series of dark streets. They used to be full of crime and burglary, and if they weren't dull and ominous before, try seeing them now! Once before, dog fights even used to take place here, now, the ansectors of those dogs fight here as well. Unless your rough and tough, you may wanna stay away from here, or your in for a tough time!

OBSIDIAN SHORES This beach once had a name, but the dogs never found it out. So the Obsidian Gang named the beautiful beach after themselves. The Obsidian Shores has white, sandy beaches and cool, teal waters. The oceanwater is salty and gross, however, it seems to be the only source of water in this area so many canines have become ammune to the salty tang and drink it as if its fresh. They can sometime find fish to eat after high tides, and even a shark or two, if they can get through its rough skin.

ST. PATRICKS HOTEL The St. Patricks Hotel is made of rock and stone. Although most of the stone is cracked, that doesn't stop the Sachrani Gang from taking resedence here. Generally, the richer people got top floor suites and the less wealthy got guest rooms. This is how it works with the Sachrani dogs as well. The higher, more respected canines take shelter upstairs, despite how many stairs you have to climb, and the lower ranked got the guest suites. There used to be food leftover in the kicthen, but most of that was found and consumed within a matter of weeks. Now, its pretty empty besides mice, rats and dogs. Its a wonderful place to flop down on a gigantic king size bed and take a rest.
GRAND CENTRAL STATION The hallways to this once grand station are dusty and uninhabited. There is one train that has it doors open to any dog who wishes to get a good nights rest away from the hotel. Tables and papers still lay around inside and outside the big, black railway engine, making the place look eerie and uninviting.
NYC MALL Ah, the shopping mall. With food courts and merry-go-rounds, with furniture stores , shoe stores, and many other human stores. None of these are any use to the dogs of the Sachrani Gang. They do sleep on the couches throughout the mall, and get water from the fountain in the center that miraculously still runs.

ST. MARKS CATHEDRAL Outside, the St. Marks Cathedral is made of beautiful marble. Inside, there are lots of delicacies; glass vases, giant glass chandeliers, and beautiful stained glass murals with religious pictures that humans used to know the meanings too. There are lots of books, and there is a giant cross on the wall in a huge room. The Sobaents call this room the 'sleeping chamber' because this is where most of them sleep due to the many comfertable, cushion covered pews.

NEW YORK CITY ZOO This zoo used to be full of animals, and guests who enjoyed looking at them. After the humans were wiped out, most of the animals escaped. No one knows where the ended up, or if they were dead or alive. Some animals couldn't get out, and some chose not to. This was one of the biggest zoos, and you never know what you're gonna see when you come here. Watch out, there's a rumor there's still a lion living there...

APARTMENT BUILDINGS There are a series of apartments and mini city houses here not too far from the Back streets. This may make the Sobaent Terra seem small, but actually, the back streets and this series of apartments are rather vast in size. These apartment buildings are still uninhabited upstairs, even by dogs. Birds take residence up here, and middle aged, young and thingyy dogs take dares to go up to the talles floors where it is said to be dangerous. The dogs mainly take residence in the lower floors and rooms, or at least the ones that were left open or had a crack overtime.

NYC TENNIS TOURNAMENTS Once, this place used to be full of grunts and the sound of ball against racket, and the silent of it shooting over the net. Now, the great NYC tennis court net is long since been torn to pieces by playful puppies and accadental incidents. The grass is also overgrown here, but still shorter than most of the small areas of grass rarely found in the city, as it was always kept very short and takes longer to grow. Its pretty pointless here, except rabbits come here for some reason... and the Saffron dogs love to hunt them.

RADON SQUARE A small city square right before the Radon Music Hall of Fame. Cars are also parked here around the small shops and apartments around the streets. Dogs sleep inside the cars after the windows busted. You can barely see the buildings, so much ivy is climbing up the walls and the telephone poles. If you didn't notice the Telephone lines before, you can now! They are also covered in ivy, and often crack and break when it becomes iced over.

NEW YORK CITY THEATER Before this place used to smell of popcorn and played videos on the big screen. Now the screen in molded and rotting. It is of no possible use anymore. However, the leather seats are. Dogs, especially the smaller breeds, love to sleep on them. Most of the Saffron Gang take shelter here in the many theater rooms. They divide up into rooms as ranks. The popcorn popper still contains rotted popcorn. That doesn't interest the dogs much - as this is one of the newer descovered places and the popcorn is years old and most who eat it get sick afterward. Rats however try to get in all the time, and that gives the canines a source of food.
