In the year 2012, a terrible sickness washed over the globe, infecting nearly every human who merely breathed in its fumes. Some say the sickness was started by just some rotton rat carcasses deep in the sewer mixed with human waste. Some say it was a mad scientist's project gone wrong. Still, others say it wasn't a sickness at all, but an alien invasion sent down to earth from another world to take over the planet, but no one knows for sure as all these ideas sound crazy and unlikely. Later that year the human race was completely wiped out. Doctors just couldn't cure patients, because they didn't have the right medicine and soon they, too got infected and became to ill to do their jobs. The world became a dead lifeless place. That is, until the dog's realized the humans were gone.
All the dog in New York City divided into four bands, or Gangs; The Obsidian Gang, the Sachrani Gang, and Saffron Gang, and the Sobaent Gang. They developed a form of 'government'. Bosses led the gangs, and generals were their 'second-in-command' who took over after the boss resigned or died. Each gang has its own set of rules and punishments, and they each have claimed their own territory around the once beautiful, human filled city. They now live life without the humans, which is better for those who were street dogs before being chased and ran over by the humans cars, and harder for those who used to be pampered pooches.

These are the basic rules and guidelines to follow if you want to roleplay with us. It's all pretty basic, but new members should read through it anyway, just so we're all on the same page.
◊ Unwritten is a canine roleplay; that means we roleplay only dogs - nothing else.
Activity
◊ Log on and post at least once a week. If you miss a week once, it won't matter too much, but if you disappear with no explanation, your character will get put up for adoption. (this sounds strict, but it's really not if you think about it. Just post every few days and you'll be fine C:) ◊ If you know you are going to be inactive one week, or if you were absent from the forums or posting for an excusable reason, please send me a PM and let us know
Adoption / Playable Characters
◊ If you are inactive and have not posted telling us when and why you'll be away, your character may be placed up for adoption under the Character Adoptions board. They will dwell here for a week or so, while people audition to adopt them. If no one adopts them, the character will be made into a PBA. ◊ A playable is a character all members can roleplay. They can be used in feuds or fights as 'bait' or a character to be killed off, to have a run-in with another character, or to create a fight. ◊ If your character is involved in a thread with the PBA character, you should not be playing as the PBA. Let someone not involved be the character, while you take care of your own character's activeness. ◊ If you are going to kill off a PBA, please PM me first. The answer will most likely be "yes", but the charrie may be involved in a larger plot and is needed. ◊ If you wish to adopt a charrie that is already a PBA, please PM me, and we can sort out the adoption. I may require you to add to its bio, but this is rare. ◊ No wolf/coyote/dingo hybrids.
Roleplaying
◊ The minimum word requirement for your posts is 150 words. We recommend you take time and put effort into posting. ◊ You are expected to have decent writing skills. Be descriptive, vary your sentences, and proofread your posts for mistakes. ◊ There is no power-playing (controlling another members' character(s) or god-modding (making your character invincible) ◊ Do not use ch4t sp3ak in posts. There is zero tolerance for this (however, chatspeak in the C-box doesn't matter too much.) ◊ Bold speech and Italicize thoughts to make them stand out. ◊ Your character may curse/swear at other characters if you want, but keep it PG-13. ◊ Do not change the color of the text in your posts as it becomes hard to read. ◊ Try to have a sense of chronology - one thread must have come before another. Choose which one came first and keep it in mind when you post.
Fighting
◊ Fights usually take place over puppies, a kill, or to advance in rank in a pack. ◊ If you want to have a battle with another character, you must inform an admin. They will then post after each character involved in the battle posts with the results. For example, if Sun and Moon are fighting, it would go like this: Sun's post Admin's post informing what damage is done Moon's reaction post Admin's post then Sun's reaction post Admin's post Moon's reaction post. Etc. That way the outcome of the fight is fair.
Being Claimed
◊ Any dog/cat who isn't in a tribe or pack will wander through a tribe or pack's territory. They will then be run off or accepted into the new territory. This usually depends on which tribe/pack has more animals - we try to keep them even. ◊ If you are run off, the other leader will have to accept you into their territory to live among their own. So you wont be on your own C: ◊ If you accept, you become a member. If you decline you will be driven away and not get a second chance.
Mating / Breeding
◊ Before breeding your characters, please inform me. ◊ No graphic breeding. This should speak for itself. ◊ Once your characters have mated, fill out the forms in the subsection of the Biographies board entitled "Pups." ◊ If you have the other member's permission, your character may force their character to mate. ◊ I will choose the number born in each litter. You may choose the genders and names. The person who will end up playing the animal will choose how they look, their personality, etc.
Characters / Account
◊ Please make your characters look appropriate - no green, blue, or purple animals here. ◊ The maximum age for a dogs is 14 years. ◊ They reach adulthood around the age of 1 year, and sexual maturity around 2-3 years of age. ◊ When creating a character, check to make sure no one has the same name as your charrie. ◊ You will need a picture of your animal in their bio - I suggest finding a picture of a cat or dog first and basing a character on it. Obviously, it doesn't have to be perfect.
Out Of Character (OOC)
◊ Be polite to all members of the site. This should go without saying. ◊ Listen to the staff - they know what they're talking about, and they have the power to get you kicked out. Don't worry, they're nice people C: ◊ Don't fight - if you have a problem try to work it out. If you can't, ask a mod to help you work out your differences.
